Detroiters Deserve a Safe Place to Call Home
Right now, too many families in Detroit are living on the streets, in cars, or in buildings that are falling apart. That’s not okay. We believe no child should go to bed cold and hungry, without a choice between food and shelter.
The Detroit Homeless Initiative is bringing people together—churches, neighbors, and city leaders to build real homes for real families. Yes. Clean. Warm. Safe. Ready to move in.
Detroiters Deserve a Safe Place to Call Home
Right now, too many families in Detroit are living on the streets, in cars, or in buildings that are falling apart. That’s not okay. We believe no child should go to bed cold and no parent should ever have to choose between food and shelter.
The Detroit Homeless Initiative is bringing people together, churches, neighbors, and city leaders to build real homes for real families. Yes, Clean. Warm. Safe. Ready to move in.

Our Goal?
4,000 new homes. 2,000 families off the street in the next 4 years.
Our Mission
To end homelessness in Detroit by creating a powerful network of churches, nonprofits, agencies, and citizens working together. We aim to deliver permanent housing, compassion-driven services, and resources to those in urgent need.
Who We Work For!
We help real people—families, parents, and children—who have nowhere else to go.
Families Without a Home
Many families in Detroit sleep in cars or unsafe places because they have no home. We give them a place to land.
Single Parents Struggling
Some parents must choose between food and rent. No one should have to make that choice. We help them find a safe home.
People Stuck in Shelters
Many families move from shelter to shelter with no way out. We build homes they can stay in forever.
Children With No Safe Place
Kids should not sleep on the streets. We make sure they have a warm bed and a safe home.
Why This Matters
Two children Darnell and A’Millah Curry froze to death in Detroit because their family had nowhere to go. Not because help didn’t exist. But because it didn’t reach them in time. This should never happen in any city, in any country let alone here, in Detroit.
In the wealthiest country in the world, letting Detroit families sleep in cars is not just a failure—it’s a choice. And we refuse to accept it. Not now. Not ever again.

A Bold Stand Against Homelessness in Detroit
For decades, Detroit’s housing system has been broken. Families have been pushed onto the streets, stuck in shelters, or trapped in a cycle of poverty with no real way out. That ends now. Under Detroit Faith Based Housing, the Detroit Homeless Initiative is launching a once-in-a-generation plan to tackle homelessness at its root.

Hope Begins Here
The Ca’Maya Davis Family Resource Center was built to ensure no family in Detroit faces homelessness alone. It provides emergency housing, vital resources, and long-term support to those in need.
This center isn’t just a shelter—it’s a lifeline for families seeking stability, safety, and a fresh start. Every child deserves a home, and here, we make that possible.
Our Solution
Detroit’s housing crisis isn’t just about numbers—it’s about real families with real struggles. We don’t believe in quick fixes. We believe in real, lasting solutions.
Building Safe, Affordable Homes
We are creating 4,000 permanent housing units across Detroit. These are not just shelters they are real homes where families can rebuild their lives.
Smart Housing for a Better Future
Our AEDU instaLiving™ homes are affordable, high-quality, and move-in ready. Every home includes a bed, sink, shower, fridge, and stove so families have everything they need.
Emergency Housing for Immediate Help
